Article Marketing Plan: Part Two
In part one of this article I talked about the first two steps you must take in order to accomplish any kind of success with your article marketing efforts. You know that you must find a niche or topic you want to write about and then you learned how to compile a list of keywords using google’s keyword tool.
Without doing these first two steps you would not know what people were interested in and how they were searching for it online in the first place. So be certain if you haven’t read part one of this article to do so before you continue on with the remaining steps in this article. Now to continue lets talk about steps 3 and 4.
#3 Now it’s time to write your article. This is the part where alot of people get scared and just drop out all together, because they feel they are not a writer and that people would not be interested to read what they have to say. This is where you have to make a decision within your plan about how the articles are going to be written.
Here are some ideas to help you better understand.
- If you feel confident enough and you feel you have the time then by all means write the article yourself.
- If you don’t feel confident or you don’t have the time then maybe asking someone in your family or even hiring someone to write your articles could work.
- You could even hire a freelance writer or someone form elance.com, rentacoder.com, guru.com or a number of other sites like these to write some good quality articles for a decent fee. (remember these articles will do their work for years to come so paying 8 – 12 dollars for a good article could bring you in hundreds or even thousands of dollars in the future.)
- Another option is to use a piece of article writing software to help you craft your very own articles. So as you can see there are many ways to actually get your articles written and this is a very important part that you must think about within the whole spectrum of your article marketing plan.
Once you have gotten your article written you have to let people know about it. You have to make them aware that there’s a new article that could help them out or give them some good information that they have been looking for.
#4 Now it’s time to put your article out on the web so people can see it,read it, and find your website that you want them to visit. To do this you will need to submit your article to an article directories or in this case many article directories.
Once again go to google an type in article directory and you will see a list of them come up in the search results. Now there are tons of these article directories out there but you want to focus on mainly the important ones that have good page rank and are highly respected by google.
You can usually find out this information when you actually go to one of these directories and look at the google toolbar in your browser. If you don’t have this option you can check Alexa.com as well. One of the most popular article directories is EzineArticles.com and there a several more, but you only want to focus on the these major ones to start with.
Once you have your list of article directories to submit to then you are ready to submit your articles and start driving traffic to your website. If you follow these basic steps and create an article marketing plan before you begin you’ll see better results from your efforts.
Article Marketing Plan: Part One
If you are wanting to to gain some free search engine traffic, one of the thing you should be doing is writing at least one article on your specific niche or topic every week. If you can write more than one that would be better but for now one would do to start bringing you a significant amount of traffic.
For example, one article per week about will build links with that will last a lifetime. Also quality and credibility are strong factors when writing articles. If you don’t have a goal to be recognized as a expert in your selected “niche” then don’t bother with article marketing.

#1 Select and identify a niche that you want to write about. Be very specific in your choosing.
#2 Go to google and type in the search box, adwords keyword tool. Once you get to this page, type in a keyword which identifies with your niche, Type in the captcha
and you will see a list a of keywords generated. Now find the ones that have 2-4 words within the phrase that have a decent amount of search volume.
For this you want to use the exact match feature in the drop down menu in the upper right. Now open up another tab in your browser and go to google once again. Type in one of those keyword phrases that you have found and now type that in the search box with quotation marks at the beginning and the end. This will give you an exact search match querey and allow you to look in the upper right corner to see how many pages on the internet are ranking for that exact keyword.
If the search shows that hundreds of thousands of pages are already using that exact keyword on their pages, it may be a little hard for you to get top ranking right away, however if you find that 100,000 or less are ranking for that exact keyword then you may have a better shot at ranking high for that keyword as well.
You can do this for each keyword phrase that you think has a good search volume that you would like to write about. I know this seems like it may take alot of time but don’t you want to yield some great results for your article marketing, instead of just slapping an article together that will not send you the traffic you want because the article can’t be found by any one.
By doing these first two steps you are assuring that your article marketing efforts will not go to waste and that you have actually created a successful plan of attack in terms of generating traffic to your website. This process can be tedious but it is a must if you want to succeed.

There are certain key factors you must incorporate in to your article writing that will enable you to get the most out of your article marketing campaigns. If you follow these simple techniques it could mean the difference between a successful campaign and a shotty campaign.

• Structure and Good Article Content are the Start.
Always provide good relevant content that will be interesting to your readers. You always want to be original and structure your article in a very easy to read paragraph form. Use an eye catching thought provoking headline that will grab your readers attention immediately. You also want to use a headline with keywords in it that will be searched by people looking for information pertaining to your article.
Be sure to include some interesting keyword enriched sub headlines to keep your readers attention even if they just glance or browse through your article. make sure your words are easy enough to understand and that you are not using vocabulary that only a college professor might understand. You want to be simple and precise in giving your information to your readers.
Be sure to look over your article for any misspelled words and make those corrections. You want to appear as someone who knows what you are talking about and seem like a reliable resource that they can turn to for valuable information about your topic.
Use Bold words and italicized words where you feel neccassary. Bold words can grab a readers eye when just scimming over a page quickly so make sure the words you bold are important and relevant to the content in your article. This is just a quick overview but lets continue on.
• Correct Usage of Keywords and Keyword Phrases.
The keywords and keyword phrases that you will choose are very important. Make sure you take this part very seriously and take your time researching what keywords people are using to search for things in your niche. Also you want to use high searched keyword phrases with little competition in order to secure that you can rank high within the search engines for those words.
I usually type a key word phrase in google with the quotation marks to see how many other pages on the web are competing for that certain exact phrase. If I see less than 100,000 I know I can compete. If I see less than 30,000 I pretty much know that crafting my article the right way and including my keyword phrase throughout the article will help me secure a front page google ranking.
• Don’t Over Do It with your Keyword Density.
Keyword density refers to the amount of times your keyword or keyword phrase is used within your article. While there is an opinion by many as to what percentage your keyword density should be most agree between 3-7 percent is adequate and should be what you strive for.
If you go over that 7 percent amount search engines may view your article as trying to keyword spam and this could be detrimental to your aricle marketing efforts. And if you go under the 3 percent mark search engines may not even identify your article with your main keyword phrase and this is also a bad thing.
So try to keep it right in that 3-7 percent range. Out of every 100 words with in your article the should be a usage of your keyword phrase between 3 and 7 times. if you create your article with the idea of only targeting one keyword or keyword phrase instead of many this 3-7 percent keyword density can be achieved rather easily and still keep your article sounding real and relevant to your niche or the topic of what you’re writing about.
If you follow these 3 basic guidelines you are well on your way to having a successful article marketing campaign.
